"I just got my copy of the New Parent Package. I have to say it is absolutely amazing! I have shown people at work and they all could not believe how great it is. Great job! It is exactly what new parents need. Just wanted to thank you for sending me a copy and for all you do for us families that have children with Down syndrome and for the folks with Down syndrome themselves."

When you become a monthly donor, you make it possible for CDSS to plan better, reach more people, and decrease admin expenses – making your donation go even further! You won’t get phone calls or other forms of solicitation (unless you want it) but you will receive an exclusive impact update for monthly donors about every 4-6 months. As a monthly donor you will join a slew of passionate parents, grandparents, siblings, neighbours and others who have chosen to support Canadians with Down syndrome through monthly giving.

Reminder about the CDSS Calendar

Tuesday, 05 July 2016

Due to low sales and the high cost of production, we will not be producing a CDSS Member Calendar this year. Thanks to all of you who participated in previous years. We look forward to working on new and exciting advocacy projects in its place!

There are many local group calendars - please email us at if your group has their own calendar and we will post that information on our website.

Thank you, Kevan McBeth and Heather Kaine

CDSS would like to acknowledge two great people who have committed their lives to supporting and advocating for the Down syndrome community. Kevan McBeth and Heather Kaine are retiring from the CDSS Board of Directors after dedicating eight years to serving Canada’s Down syndrome community. They have helped make CDSS a better organization.

Heather has been one of our greatest advocates for VATTA, helping provide support to allow the committee to continue to represent Canadians with Down syndrome on the world stage. Heather served on the CDSS executive as treasurer for several years.

Kevan McBeth has been an exceptional Board Chair, pushing CDSS into new and exciting projects and continuing to foster an environment of collaboration. Prior to his work as Board Chair, Kevan was Vice Chair, coordinating and leading the Affiliate Council, twelve Down syndrome organizations across Canada.

On behalf of the CDSS community, we thank them for their eight years of service. We know for certain that CDSS has lifelong friends in them.
