National Down Syndrome Awareness Week

The Canadian Down Syndrome Society is proud to announce National Down Syndrome Awareness Week (NDSAW), November 1-7, 2012.

NDSAW is a public awareness campaign focusing on the unique strengths and abilities of people with Down syndrome. By doing so, we work to ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome.

National Down Syndrome Awareness Week is a time to:

  • Educate fellow Canadians about the strengths and abilities of individuals with Down syndrome
  • Demonstrate the important contributions individuals with Down syndrome are
    making to their communities
  • Recognize programs in the community and country which enhance our lives, and especially the lives of individuals with Down syndrome
  • Strengthen our national effort to ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome
  • Raise funds for local, regional and national Down syndrome groups

We hope you will join us as we 'See the ability' along with all Canadians with Down syndrome.
