National Down Syndrome Awareness Week is a Huge Success!
|
National Down Syndrome Awareness Week was November 1-7 and all across Canada, local groups were celebrating the contributions of people with Down syndrome. From Buddy Walks to concert events, celebrations were held accross the country. The Canadian Down Syndrome Society hosted a Family Skate at the Olympic Oval in Calgary. With a large turn out and many self advocates present, the event was a huge success. A special thanks to all the people who made events like this happen from coast to coast. Also a special thanks to all the people that came out in support. We encourage local groups to begin thinking about events for next year that will make National Down Syndrome Awareness Week even more impactful next year. Remember National Down Syndrome Awareness Week is the first week of November every year. |
