IQ Testing

The Canadian Down Syndrome Society works to  ensure equitable opportunities for all Canadians with Down syndrome by  fostering a climate of understanding and mutual respect for the dignity, worth  and equal rights for ALL people.

he Canadian Down Syndrome Society asserts that Intelligence Quotient (IQ) testing should not be used to determine eligibility for support services.
 
The CDSS also asserts that other forms of assessment tailored to the unique learning and expressive styles and physical abilities of the individual being assessed should be used in place of IQ testing.
